Merlin Perton WP Wax Jacket: A short wax jacket
If you think of Steve McQueen and his Belstaff jacket, you will have the glow of British motorcycle wear at its best in your hear and soul. With the new CE regulations and the downsides of traditional wax cotton, in comes a modern re-interpretation. Merlin co-developed a new, more breathable and lighter fabric with Halley Stevensons, the original wax cotton fabric mill. The new fabric is called “Codec”. Where it is similar is that it retains all the heritage and optics. Where it is different, it is lighter, less waxy, more breathable, and more abrasion-resistant compared to the traditional loom. The Merlin Perton jacket is the Merlin Barton jacket in spirit and fit, but crafted with some styling adjustments from the new waxed fabric. Expect this: A lighter, practical and stylish waxed jacket, perfect for summer riding with the Outlast liner removed and air vents opened, yet very warm for winter riding with all the benefits of the removable Outlast lining fitted.
All the retro style in an upgraded, technical package: The Perton Cotec jacket includes a removable Outlast temperature-regulating removable lining and a waterproof membrane. Shoulders and elbow are equipped with Level-1 D3O limb protectors. The whole package is CE Level “AA” approved. The back can be upgraded with a D3O back panel.
Fit: Merlin jackets come up at least a 1/2 size generous. A size Large will fit a 44in chest very comfortably and will fit a 45in chest cleanly without being tight
