Naturally, the boots feature reinforced heel and toe cups, padded ankle impact protection, as well as soles that are rigid across the width to prevent crushing. That combo has earned the Merlin Drax worker boots CE Performance Level 2 approval (CE EN13634:2015 Certified Achieving Performance Level 2 (abrasion), 2 (cut), 2 (transverse rigidity)).

The boots are more generously sized than other brands & offer a longer footbed: For example, if you are a size EU42 or UK7.5-8, then Merlin’s size 41 / UK7 will fit comfortably around the foot and expect additional space over the toes and a more spacious toe box compared to other boots. The shaft height is about 2 inches shorter than a standard touring boots, approximately 9.5 inches on a size 42.
